Road drain very deep

Reported via desktop in the Potholes and maintenance category anonymously at 17:51, Saturday 3 January 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8621553.

The water drain on the left side of the road at this bend when driving away from the station is quite deep in the road. This is somewhat unavoidable when driving if there is traffic coming from the opposite direction. It has the potential to damage tyres.

Council ref: ENQ261070912

  • I have just hit this , this morning, it is hard to avoid especially when buses coming the other way cut the bend slightly , forcing you into it. It is very deep, very severe, and now my car has a vibration coming from the steering wheel. Off to be checked and depending on the outcome, claim incoming.

  • This completely collapsed Monday night. I’ve provided pictures of it on Tuesday and this morning. As you can see in the rainy pictures, asphalt has been thrown onto the footpath. I’ve been watching vehicles go over it; tyres are going to pop and, worse, axels, particularly on lorries, are going to break. It’s a heck of a depth.
