Refill of road grit needed

Reported via desktop in the Environmental Services category anonymously at 15:21, Friday 2 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 1 week, 2 days, 19 hours, 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 8617005.

Following the first snow of the season and two RTCs on Southcroft Road (which is hilly) myself and other neighbours gritted the road. However, we used all the road grit. Can you please replenish the box (at the junction with Rosemary Gardens) ASAP. TIA

  • I am not sure why your contractor could not identify the Salt Box. Hopefully the attached photos make the position clear. I would have noted a number on the lamppost next to the bin, but no number visible. Please note that other salt bins in the surrounding roads are also empty. Given that the area is hilly and the age demographic the Snow Friends scheme is not viable. Therefore please arrange for the bins to be refilled before we get any more snow. TIA

  • Notwithstanding previous responses, and given winter weather that is forecasted next week please re-consider and provide grit/road salt at this location and others in this area. I along with neighbours will be happy to spread it along the road and pavement but do not want to sign up to Snow Friends group (not that there is one in our neighbourhood. TIA
