Asphalt around drain sunken causing big pothole
Reported via mobile in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 14:26, Thursday 1 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8612956.
Been here for at least 4-months, in a commonly cycled stretch between lights and locksbrook. Deep enough and wide enough to throw a cyclist off into a busy road. There are a series of drain covers with tarmac surrounding them, and at least one of them has sunken enough to become dangerous.

Potholes which have appeared around each of the drain covers outside Windsor Villas. They are growing in size with each wet day making it more and more precarious to step outside our front door as cars, buses and lorries hammer past and send water through our front gates. Walking along to the bus stop is just as precarious as each drain cover is surrounded by water which lies below the level of the drain or doesn't soak away because the drain is blocked.
The council patched a new bit of road surface around each of the drains but the rapair wasn't good enough to withstand the amount of traffic that goes by each day so more patching required.
Drain outside our house, this was shortly after it had stopped raining (in danger of a soaking to do it while it's still raining) but already the traffic had deposited most of the water onto the pavement.
