Private Company Illegally Controlling On-road Parking - part 4

Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 16:10, Mon 29 December 2025

Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8602373.

Company: Remember Me - Dementia Day Care Centre Address: 10, Bemrose House, Hanson Rd, Aintree, Liverpool L9 7BG.

We brought this problem to your attention back in October of this year. Surprisingly, no resolution to what is an obvious illicit act.

The company has erected signs on its fence - not to mention enormous signs on their wall as least 6x6 in area on which they state that there is .strictly no parking'. There are also mobile bollards they place to stop people parking.

This has gone on a long time now; this company is illegally preventing people from parking on the only stretch of Hanson Road that doesn't have yellow lines on it. However, there is always one car - the same car - parked there every day. We presume a staff member owns it.

We have contacted you on three previous occasions about the behaviour of this company and we feel that unless this issue is resolved quickly, a group action will be considered to take this to a legal level. It is simply unacceptable that this plain as day issue has not been resolved.

Can you tell us if this company has an exception and it allowed to control parking on a public road for its own use?

The attitude, entitlement and arrogance of this company is staggering. It's time this was sorted: they have no legal right whatsoever to do this and it's time it was stopped. This is a busy road with many businesses and this business is 'hogging' the one small stretch or road that doesn't have yellow lines on it; they are doing this through deception with their signage.

We first raised this matter with you on 2024 when they did this for the first time - you resolved it inside 48 hours. This time, two months later and they are still getting away with it.

This needs to be resolved quickly - a lot of local businesses are losing their patience with these people.
