Green Lane Cycle Path Overgrown
Reported in the Roads/highways category by Robert Whittaker at 21:50, Thu 14 July 2016
Sent to Norfolk County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 860012.
Vegetation is overgrowing the Green Lane Cycle path (U33200 and 3Y6) between its northern end at the C148 Kilverstone Road and the crossing between Peter Drive and Pennycress Drive, significantly reducing the width and making it awkward and in places dangerous for use by cyclists.
I've cut back a number of brambles at eye level, but there remains grasses, brambles and stinging nettles encroaching on the width of the path that should be available. There are several places where it is impossible to use the path without brushing stinging nettles, and for much of the length it will be impossible for two users to pass at all.
As this cycle path is part of the National Cycle Network and a key local route for accessing Tesco and Thetford Garden Centre, it should be maintained to an appropriate standard. I would suggest the width of the path and a foot or so of the verge either side needs attention from either a strimmer or a mower.

I've had a response from Norfolk Council, which I think relates to this report. (It's hard to tell from their automated email, as it doesn't include the original report text, and the location is a bit vague.)
If it is this issue, it's reference number is ENQ-0086264, and the status is now "We have inspected and are going to resolve the problem."
