Wooden Sleeper on Bridge Completely Rotted
Reported via mobile in the Bridge-Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 23:09, Mon 22 December 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8583368.
One of the wooden sleepers on this footbridge has completely rotted away causing a large hole to now be in the edge of the bridge.
Not sure on the condition of the other two sleepers which might also be rotting and end up in the same state soon.
Perhaps best to install a new bridge.

Thanks for investigating. I’m not sure if anyone has done a site visit yet but I did today. The remaining planks of the bridge are sound but as you can see the plank to which the handrail is attached has completely disintegrated and the handrail is now dangerously unstable. Some sort of cautionary signage would be sensible whilst requires continue.
