Exposed pipe in path, Blocked Pavement

Reported via mobile in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:24, Sun 21 December 2025

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8576235.

For over a year, after utility company work (Thames Water, cable or gas network), a hole in the path appeared with an exposed pipe which the utility company hasn't repaired but has left covered by a large blue barrier which often falls over dangerously and could fall inro the road and cause an accident. The position of this is in front of the bus stop between Kiln Road and Peppard Road. This makes using the pavement difficult for bis users, wheelchair and pushchair users.

It also looks unsightly and has left residents wondering why this has been left for so long as it is in a very prominent place.

Updates

  • Although the blue barrier has now been removed there is still an exposed pipe in the pavement which is also a trip hazard.
