Inefficient Traffic Light Management at Llantrissant Road and Goetre Fach

The traffic light management at the junction of Llantrissant Road and Goetre Fach appears to have been changed within the last two weeks and is now causing unnecessary congestion. For several years, Llantrissant Road operated on a green-by-default system, only switching to red when vehicles were detected on the side road, Goetre Fach. This arrangement managed traffic flow efficiently. The current setup now holds the main Llantrissant Road on red by default, resulting in queues and delays, despite there frequently being little or no traffic emerging from Goetre Fach. This change has noticeably worsened traffic conditions at the junction and runs counter to the intended purpose of having intelligent, demand-based traffic management. Could this issue be reviewed and the previous, more effective configuration reinstated if no safety concerns justify the change?
