Continued flooding on Basil Hill Road Didcot at Entrance to Foxhall Manor Park

The continued flooding of this area is exhausting and damaging to vehicles entering the Foxhall Manor Park site. This happens during mild and heavy rainfall. It is impossible to use pedestrian footpaths.This is an ongoing problem for the past six years.

  • Drainage system runs across Basil Hill Road, into piped system within the bounds of Distribution warehouse to the ditch system running alongside Sewage Works access road.

  • Both sides of the road are flooded again. Drainage lines clearly need to be cleaned out, jetted.

  • Investigations and successful jetting of pipework many years ago, show line of system through distribution company property, parallel to highway, discharging into ditch alongside entrance road to water treatment works. Drawings made and passed to maintenance department.

  • You could barely see the road at all yesterday - 6 Jan 2026 and the water is hiding dreadful potholes as well. It was quite deep and getting in and out of Foxhall Manor Park was not easy Pedestrians can not walk safely past without getting soaked as well

  • Very deep flooding both sides. Coaches were turning around to avoid it and cars were only going one at a time through the middle of the road. With road closures near by due to an incident this caused major delays.
