  • Driving in traffic torwards Abingdon on the Marcham Road last night around 6pm in traffic and hit a bad pothole. A few seconds later I had a tyre pressure warning and a had to pull over because of a flat front left tyre. Checking my dashcam footage today I can see it is exactly by the entrance to Abingdon Hospital in a location already identified. A quick inspection shows that the tyre must be replaced. Thankfully the rim appears okay, but will only know this for sure when the tyre is replaced and balanced.

  • Huge pothole here, hit this Thursday night and now have a flat tyre that's split beyond repair. Will be claiming for the local council soon.

  • This deep enough to damade a car or hurt a cyclist

  • This is still a major problem!!!!

  • This pot hole is increasing in length and depth. Now approx 1.5m long with a depth of over 40cm. It is right at the exit slip from Marcham Rd hospital and will be causing more damage to vehicles, including ambulances leaving the site. Hope the council can afford the repairs to vehicles. I also hit it, causing a loss of tyre pressure yesterday, luckily no tyre or wheel damage caused this time

  • Still no change- how many more vehicles have to be damaged before action is taken?

Posted anonymously at 18:57, Saturday 3 January 2026

  • This dangerous pot hole is still not repaired. It is causing daily damage to vehicles and is a major safety issue for cars and bikes. Please prioritise this repair on this very busy road. There will be an injury and a claim against the OCC which we will all pay for. Let alone the pain and suffering that could result from a road traffic accident.

  • Driving down Marcham road there is a pothole outside the hospital which I went it in , it was very deep and has damaged my tyre I will have to get a new one, I don’t know yet if it done any more damage

  • This pothole is still not fixed, we had to pay for a new front tyre today via RAC roadside rescue

Posted anonymously at 18:55, Wednesday 21 January 2026

  • This is now a serious hazard and in a very dangerous state. How the previous repair was ever signed off needs investigating

  • Pothole getting larger everyday.

Posted anonymously at 16:40, Thursday 22 January 2026

  • Hit pothole on Wednesday 21st at 14.00hrs. Tyre totally flat when I got to my destination. Had to have car taken to garage today. Car now in garage waiting for a new tyre and for any other damamge to be fixed.

  • I narrowly avoided this giant pothole on my bike yesterday which meant swerving into the traffic at short notice and in appalling weather. Please could you either tape off the area or provide a short term fix. The photos don't do justice to how large and dangerous this hole is, and it is growing exponentially. The road and pavements around this hole are strewn with bits of road from the hole which makes the road surface much more slippery even without the hole to contend with.

  • I hit this pothole at 6am yesterday and it punctured both my front and rear tyres. It will cost over £600 to replace them - it is utterly unacceptable that this pothole has been allowed to get this bad on such a busy main road. I have lodged a complaint with OCC and expect reimbursement and prompt action to fix the pothole before there's a bad accident and someone is seriously injured.

  • Hole is now becoming a trench and mutiple cars were left with flat tyres and damaged wheels on 21/01. Trench now over 2 metres long across the exit slip of Marcham Rd Hospital

  • Saturday 24th January 2026. I drove past this massive pothole this morning. It is still there, very deep, and has not been marked in any way to show that it was under investigation at all. Traffic is heavy on this road, and this needs to be addressed. It is already causing damage to cars that can't avoid it.

  • Pothole is beyond a joke now. As a cyclist myself i will avoid that area after reading the previous reports and seeing the huge pothole whilst travelling in a car that had to swerve to avoid damage! Why has it taken 6 weeks and numerous damages to cars to fix this.

Posted anonymously at 16:13, Sunday 25 January 2026

  • The hole is getting larger by the day, this was filled in just after Christmas but the fix only lasted amount of hours, the stuff put in is all over the road.

  • Huge Pothole, very dangerous and requires urgent attention before someone is hurt.

  • Pothole still there- in a very high risk area

Posted anonymously at 23:08, Tuesday 27 January 2026

  • This Pothole repair is already breaking up, absolute disgrace.

Posted anonymously at 18:47, Wednesday 28 January 2026

  • The pot hole is still there. It was being repaired a couple of days ago, however it's back to being uncovered and a hole again, causing cars to need to swerve to avoid damage to their vehicles!

  • Fri 30th Jan - Terrible repair, seems they only filled the long trench, which is now sinking. Hole to the side of trench hasn't been filled. Gravel every where.

  • Pothole getting worse. Failed (bodged) repair. I hope contractors weren't paid for this shoddy workmanship. Please repair properly

Posted anonymously at 11:49, Saturday 31 January 2026

  • 31st Jan - The repair is an absolute joke. Bits of tarmac all over the road and pavement.
