All 3 drains between The Bungalow and Vine Cottage are blocked
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 15:11, Thu 18 December 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8565248.
Despite the drains being cleared only a short while ago all three are blocked again, and unless the pipes that connect these are cleared then this problem will just keep repeating. The surface water is being thrown up at the walls ( we are in a conservation area ) and at our vehicles parked on our drives. This is causing damage to the walls, vehicles and is a danger to people walking along the road. The volume of water being thrown up by passing cars is considerable, indeed it is being thrown all the way over our 6ft partial hedge on occasions!! Vehicles are swerving into the oncoming traffic to avoid the flood which is going to result in an accident. Please come and clear the connecting pipes as well as the drains.

The above photos show how the flooded gutters are effecting the surrounding environment. The walls are being destroyed. Nearly all of the render has been splashed out. I believe a thorough investigation of the gutter system is required. Cleaning the drains does not address this issue.

The drains were worked on last night, between 21.45 and 22.30, but, they worked on the 3 drains by Radcot House and then one way down the road by Haven Cottage. Nothing was done to the three drains marked in white. Attached are a couple of photos showing the difference in the water levels in the drains this morning between one that was worked on and the 3 that are the problem. Please, please, please get this addressed.

We are grateful to the men who came last night between 21.45 and 22.30 and worked on 3 drains. HOWEVER these were not the drains that we reported and which remain blocked!!! Please remove the ‘actioned status’ form this report and actually come and clear the reported drains! If you are finding it difficult to find these 3 clearly marked drains then please email us and we will stand next to them so you can locate them. Please note not only the stones walls are being washed away , but the pavement is starting to disintegrate. Please see photos posted this morning by Bampton PC showing the difference in levels between one of the drains worked on last night and the 3 clearly marked ones.
