The road from the Delme Roundabout to the M27 when travelling along the M27. For several years there have been potholes in the slip road that leads from the Delme Roundabout to the motorway. Periodically they are filled in and after a few months they reappear. These potholes are particularly dangerous in periods of darkness and wet weather when they near on invisible. I don’t ride a motor bike but suspect that hitting one of these potholes at even a slow speed could be fatal, as traffic can be very busy in this area. I believe closure of the M27 over the Christmas period with a reduced level of traffic using this slip road is an ideal opportunity to properly address this issue and have written to Lulu Bowerman Executive member for Highways at Hampshire County Council and Nick Adams-King Leader of Hampshire County Council requesting that they use their positions and influence to make this happen. The time and cost to remedy this problem will be miniscule compared to the overall M27 project and I believe could be accomplished over the closure period or very soon. The picture gives an indication of the state of the problem but probably understates it. NB I had to wait ages for a space in the traffic to capture the picture as this road is quite busy!
