Surface water drain under B4479 blocked causing flooding and road hazard to vehicles using the road.

The stream taking the discharge water from the upper and lower lakes [or water [s] as they are labelled on the location map] passes under the B4479 in pipes and into my garden at GL56 9JS. The pipes appear to be blocked, causing a build up of water which forms a mini lake on the west side of the highway, visible from the road. This overflows over the verge and onto the road where it flows northwards for about 70 metres before flowing into a field on the eastern side of the highway. The flow is sufficient to cause a hazard to passing traffic, and damage to the road surface and adjacent verges etc.. . Please contact me if you require further information.

Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.
We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.
We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
