On Friday 19th December (between 21.15 - 21.30), my vehicle suffered a cracked alloy wheel (off-side front), which later resulted in a slow puncture due to hitting the series of deep potholes in this area. Since the incident, I’ve spent considerable time and money travelling back and forth to tyre and wheel specialists in order to rectify the problem, which has been finally resolved today (Tuesday 23rd December). The road surface in this area is not suitable at all, and I’m sure that I won’t be the only one that this happens too along the Bedford Road, Northampton - in my opinion, it needs a repair immediately, and I will be seeking compensation for the time / damage (and money spent), to make my vehicle roadworthy again…

The potholes have deteriorated further and are now significantly larger. They present an immediate and serious safety hazard, with a high risk of accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage. Failure to address this issue urgently could result in serious incidents and liability.

They are getting larger…As shown in the photos, one lane is practically unusable unless you want to damage your car. With that in mind, scheduling repairs for 11/06/2026 seems quite far away. I hope the council can review this and consider an earlier solution for residents and road users. Even temporarily closing the affected lane could be a safer option than leaving it in this condition until the repair date.

These are still here; they're completely unavoidable and are now an increased danger to motorists.
They're scattered across the road, deep, and will injure a motorcyclist if caught at the wrong angle.
The new BMW motorcycle store has opened on the Norman-D-Gate road, so these potholes need immediate attention.
