Repair has not worked

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8530166.

Potholes just under the west side of the bridge These potholes are supposed to have been looked at and mended in recent days. The repairs have failed. Whatever they were filled in with has sunk and there is now a very sharp edge the hole. PLEASE get this sorted ASAP, residents are fed up with have burst tyres because this area has not been repaired properly.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 3 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 28 days. Our current average response time for a Priority 3 repair is 12 days.

    This pothole constitutes a danger to life and needs to be repaired as a priority. I hit it yesterday on a motorcycle resulting in a buckled front wheel, immediate front tyre failure and broken mudguard. It's only the fact that I'm an experienced Advanced Motorcyclist that managed to retain control and not fall off.

  • So just for the record you are happy to accept the risk of death or serious injury to a motorcyclist or cyclist from this pothole despite being aware of the real risk for another 3 weeks

  • The delay in responding to this report is unacceptable. If the repair had been done properly in the first place, we wouldn't be in the position of a dangerous situation.. Does a formal complaint have to be made to get some urgency on this?
