Dangerously sited traffic lights

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 12:02, Tue 9 December 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8522748.

The circled lights are at the approach to the Avonmead roundabout from Castle Court over the river. Any driver unfamiliar with the area will assume Green means go. But just after the lights are a very busy roundabout whose markings are not easily seen under any poor lighting conditions. And the lights are not for the roundabout at all, they seem to be pedestrian lights. In any oundabout collision the the offending vehicle would have a valid defence that lights allowed them to drive on. IMO this is a flawed design of the signage positioning and a waste of ratepayers money. Pedestrians should use the river path, lights should be removed. BCC to investigate and repaint roundabout markings as a temporary measure and advise TRO covering the light installation.
