Business blocking public access to free parking

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:46, Tue 2 December 2025

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8492316.

To whom it may concern, I was attending a business with my toddler and was told by the business owner at Craftea that Free parking is available on Penraevon Avenue ls7, 2Au. Whilst attempting to park in Penraevon Avenue a man blocked my attempt by parking his vehicle there. Trying to avoid a confrontation, I parked my car at a slightly different spot on Penraevon Ave only to be approached by the same man who identified himself as an owner from Central car sales saying I can't park there and to park else where. I pointed out that I was not blocking his business, it's free parking (and plenty of room for customers to go in and out etc) and I was in a rush for a meeting. On returning, my car was deliberately blocked in by the business using other cats (my car is the Audi in the middle in photos) and I had an extremely distressing confrontation (on my own with ny toddler) with 3 men from inside Central Car Sales in an attempt to get them to move their cars so I could acess my vehicle. Whilst looking around I could see that cars from their business Central Car Sales Leeds were lining the street on Penraevon Avenue and they were bullying and threatening members of the public who attempted to exercise their right to free parking there. I would hope the council would look into this matter because I would like to go back to Craftea cafe in the future without being threatened when using free public parking Thankyou for your time. Kind regards Mrs Akande
