Footpath and front gardens tarmaced with no drainage
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8453552.
Halsbury Road is in a risk area for flash flooding. Two houses have just tarmaced over front gardens for off street parking. No drainage has been installed and during recent heavy rain water has been pouring off into the street. This is not permeable tarmac. Houses 24 and 26.

Another similar off-street parking space has been created further down Halsbury Road, with no boundary drainage and non-porous surface (rear of 158 Coldharbour Road).

No action has been taken and now a neighbouring property is ripping up the pavement (that the council spent £100000s only recently repaving) to install another dropped curb and tarmac over another drive. 4 houses in a line have now taken claim to 'their' bit of the street. It is strange with a Green Party running Bristol this wholesale ripping out of gardens for fewer parking spaces is tolerated.

Still no action taken, despite the loss of habitat and water drainage in an area at risk of flash flooding according to the Environment Agency. Gone from one house with off-street parking to now 5.
Will any action be taken?

No drainage, unlike both properties on either side of 24 and 26 who jointly tarmac’d everything including the pavement with ugly coarse tarmac and lowered the kerb.
