Series of four gates badly installed/broken/damaged
Reported via mobile in the Gate is damaged/missing/locked category by Rixon Jill at 20:00, Monday 17 November 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8432419.
I started from the Sapperton road along this public footpath and each gate I came across was a problem. The first gate nearly knee capped me ! I didn’t expect a four inch bar to navigate. It’s ridiculous and impossible to get a wheelchair or pushchair through. The next three gates were falling apart, unhinged/ or just impossible to move! I’m not as young any more and lifting steel five bar rusty old gates is just not on . The landowners need to sort them all out. Do they really need four gates on this stretch ? No just more intimidating way of trying to stop our freedom to use PUBLIC FOOTPATHS.
