Unauthorised Speed Restriction Applied?

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8425861.

Hi team Highways Just driven East through Rogate on the A272, West Sussex. The usual 30mph speed restriction signs have all been removed, as have the national speed limit signs after the village. A rather amateurish 20mph repeater, but no 'proper' speed restriction sign has been erected. There is a rather amateurish 20mph painted warning on the road, and the 30mph former paint warning has been defaced. It is very confusing and looks like someone has just decided to apply a 20mph limit but has done so very poorly.
