Flooding of road at crossing

Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category by Cllr Susan Watson at 21:26, Sat 15 November 2025

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8424334.

The 2 photos are of 2 separate days where as you can see the road is flooded where pedestrians cross at the traffic lights . All the crossings where the pavement is lowered for prams, wheelchairs and poor sighted people and has yellow uneven paving in the borough floods and becomes impassable . Please get out of your office on days when we have rain and see for yourself . Whoever thought it a good idea to lower the pavement but not put drainage either side to take the water away needs a retrain in civil engineering .

Updates

  • This crossing at Crab Lane /Shrublands Way / Magdalene Way is a nightmare for pedestrians to use when it’s raining . It floods every time it rain hard . There is no way you can cross the road it’s so deep. It was badly designed as there are no drains for the water to run away .

  • This is a problem that hasn’t been fixed . It will be a problem every time there’s is a downpour because there is no drainage either side of the crossing

  • PLEASE HELP! If this was Lincolnshire, then Lincolnshire County Council would now be providing prompt, comprehensive, and publicly-available updates to this report, right here on the FixMyStreet website, for everybody to see. Unfortunately, Norfolk County Council don't do that (and they even try to discourage people from actually using FixMyStreet)! Please SIGN THE PETITITION, to urge Norfolk County Council to start collaborating with FixMyStreet, in the same way as Lincolnshire County Council is doing!
