Lockable gate required

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8420524.

The Y building builders have advised me that our lovely old Victorian gates are being restored and will be returned and automated. Alongside that will be an automated pedestrian gate. Which all sounds great. 1. I am concerned about our blind visitors to the park and how they will be able to navigate the pedestrian automated gate. 2. An automated order and vehicle gate will not stop the occupants of the Y building gaining 25/7 access to Bromley Palace Park unless there is a secondary pedestrian gate, further up the pathway on route to the park. Please can this be looked in to. Thanks.

  • To provide an update on this enquiry, a meeting was held between Council officers who are now in conjunction with the Council's Estates team looking at future designs for this entrance. A further update will be provided to the report when we know more about this.

  • Apologies for the delay in updating on this report - the delay has been due to the covenants placed on the differing land parcels around the Park, which has necessitated some discussion. The Council has agreed a solution for a new temporary gating solution until such a time that the development of the Civic Centre is complete. Quotes are being gathered for this solution and a further update will be provided once works are due to start.
