Investigating
Flooding form the development
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 15:12, Fri 14 November 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8419845.
Why were the developers allowed to redirect so much water to the little culverts that were only built to cope with surface water from Wood Burcote? It was obvious that piping and allowing so much extra water to collect at the same place would cause ongoing problems, and it has. The road has repeatedly become impassable. We were told it would be sorted by April. But that promise was broken. Then they said November. Well here we are and it's happening all over again and nothing is being done.

The blocked culvert which is flooding Burcote Road (and shown in the pics previously posted) again is causing water to run down the small ditch, unhelpfully previously dug to release some of that flood water, through the hedgerow and onto the lower ground at Temple Close. Drains on temple close are being overwhelmed already . This is a situation well known to the Council and absolutely nothing is being done. Why are the builders being allowed to get away with this nonsense planning? Please help us.

Burcote Road culvert overwhelmed by volume of water from the recently built attenuation pond and surrounding low points. • New pump station drain not allowing water to drain away, allowing this water to run overground circumventing the SUDS, contributing to the flooding of Burcote Road. • The open Culvert on Burcote Road overflowing, seemingly not balanced with the Temple Close drainage system, causing the drain lid to pop on a regular basis.
