Illegal road marking on the pavent exiting Flitwick Railway station

Reported anonymously at 19:04, Mon 13 June 2016

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 1 minute later

The exit from Flitwick railway station is a dropped kerb with double yellow lines and the zig zags of a pedestrian crossing clearly delineating the pavement (a public highway for pedestrians) and the road.

Someone has painted junction markings on the pavement as if the exit is a junction rather than just a pavement that cars cross.

This reinforces drivers mistaken belief that they have right of way over pedestrians that results in drivers driving AT pedestrians walking on their pavement.

This appeared some time of the weekend of the 10th of June 2016.

If anything, there should be markings to reinforce pedestrians right of way.

I request that these markings be removed and replaced by those that indicate pedestrian priority on this highway.
