At the moment road works are being done on foxcombe lane. Traffic is being diverted down Brumcombe lane then onto Green lane. Which has a 20 mile an hour speed limit in place. Although this is only sign posted at the entrance of the white gates. Not at the quarry road entrance.
Green lane has become a race track. It’s only wide enough for one car. The condition of the road is breaking down large pot holes everywhere. Large wagons are coming down the lane at full speed also cars are doing the same. It is a lane not a road. It was not built for the amount of traffic being diverted through here.
The amount of traffic has increased by hundreds of cars vans and Lorrie’s daily. Not only is this a risk to adults, children and animals that live on Green Lane but also a recent blind disabled young man. Who has recently gone blind. He is unable to go out walking due to the speed and frequency of the traffic now.
This needs to be looked into and addressed before someone gets hurt/ or worse still killed. Also signs for speed limit need to be put on the end of quarry road leading onto Green Lane.
I live at 6 Green Lane, myself and my neighbour have put our wheelie bins out onto the road to try and slow the traffic. Which makes no difference at all. We need speed bumps put in place clearer signage and possibly a speed indicator.
Once the new A34 slip road goes in this will only encourage more cars cutting through the village…
Please can you give this your full attention asap.
