Trench Reinstatement outside Grangefield House needs redoing.

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 08:32, Tuesday 11 November 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8402297.

I drive across this deeply sunken trench every day and have to slow down to well below 20mph, or preferably move to the other side of the carriageway. It gives such a violent jolt that it could actually cause a spinal fracture, especially to the elderly or those with osteoporosis, or someone with osteogenesis imperfecta, or even to the neck of a newborn in a car seat. I experienced such sudden severe pain in my spine one day from driving over this trench, that I thought I would have to go to A&E. I don't know how long it's been like this, other than definitely in excess of 7 months.

  • The trench is literally right outside the driveway of Grangefield House and Field House, crossing the road from one side to the other, although the sunken part is on the same side of the road as those two properties, extending from the edge of the road to the centre of the road. I don't have a photo, sorry, but if you go to Google maps you can see a photo of it before it sank.
