Road surface crumbling away

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Cllr Emma Markham at 15:15, Monday 10 November 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8399722.

The whole road surface on the Highworth road from the junction with High Street to the new Cross Trees development has been deteriorating and crumbling away due to large lorries driving on this road for the new development while it was being constructed. Construction has now finished and any new construction is now accessing the site directly off the A420. This road urgently needs resurfacing, as this is the main route into the village for a large portion of the residents, including all of those in the 500 new houses on the new Cross Trees estate. This issue has been raised by more than 20 residents independently at a local parish council meeting.

Council ref: ENQ251064099
