Dangerous - No lighting on bridleway

Reported via Android in the Other Lighting Issue category anonymously at 07:42, Mon 10 November 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8396463.

Lots of commuters cycle along this bridleway however now it is getting dark much earlier it is getting much more dangerous to cycle. Many cyclists so not used lights and pedestrians using the bridleway are almost impossible to see, there is also the issue of being dazzled by car lights as they go past. There needs to be street lighting along this road to prevent any unnecessary collisions.

  • I understand the current budget constraints, but I’d like to suggest exploring some alternative funding options for installing new street lighting on the road in question:

    - Government Grants and Loans: Interest-free loans and grants, such as those available through the Smart Infrastructure Pilots Programme (SIPP), may support innovative and energy-efficient street lighting projects. - Designated Funds for Road Safety: Are there any government or national funds available for safety improvements that could be accessed for new street lighting on dangerous roads?
