Parked cars within 10m of junction

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 07:50, Sunday 9 November 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8393640.

The Highway Code states that the nearest you can park to a road junction is 10m. Cars are frequently parked right up to the junction between Coxwell Road and Haynes Close and aren’t maintaining the 10m gap. Given the imminent increase of double yellow lines further down the main road towards Faringdon, the parked cars are going to end up parking further out of Faringdon and closer to this junction. The proximity of the parked cars to this junction makes it virtually impossible to see the cars on Coxwell Road (which are frequently travelling more than the 20mph limit) and it is an accident waiting to happen. Can double yellow lines be painted on the road to mark the no parking zone so the correct distance is maintained from the junction?
