Sections of barrier redirecting pedestrians are collapsed and blocking the path, and ramps at each end are not secured

Reported via mobile in the Signs & Barriers left behind by Contractor category anonymously at 10:36, Thursday 6 November 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8383714.

Great Western Road (London Road end) opposite carpark entrance. A long section of orange barriers redirecting pedestrians off the pavement around a wall which collapsed and has since been cleared. Barriers are clumsily overlapped and haphazardly weighted with sandbags, but have been shunted and blown over a course of weeks and there is now a section completely collapsed and blocking the path, especially for wheelchairs and prams. The new "path" is also of inconsistent width and the supports holding up the barriers become a trip hazard in the narrow spots, or prevent the passage of wheels. Kerb ramps at each end of the diversion are not secured and regularly slip off into the road, rendering them useless until a passerby lifts them back into place. This has been a worsening problem for several weeks.
