Odd speed sign just appeared
Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 00:02, Thu 6 November 2025
Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8382360.
The image attached of a "max speed 40mph" suddenly appeared a few weeks back but doesn't look light a legitimate speed sign for a couple of reasons: 1. The sign is not a red circle. 2. About 20 metres in front of that sign is another sign for "national speed limit" 3. There isn't any signage after the new sign to state when it returns to national speed limit. 4. Residence of Olney have money and are currently militantly campaigning to slow traffic down.
If it helps, the near exact location is 52.166505,-0.698155
The odd speed sigh appeared shortly after they finished resurfacing the stretch of road (about 2 months ago).

Now I'm no fancy, big city council person but these American-looking speed signs, don't look right to me! I'm wondering if the nearby farm had them installed so they can back their incredibly slow farm vehicles out of their gates without everyone moaning that their vehicles are, actually, incredibly slow!
