Traffic lights- unsafe for pedestrians

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 09:35, Wednesday 5 November 2025

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8378446.

The traffic lights on stopsley way (crossing to get into Langford drive) on atleast 6 occasions I have seen cars go through the red light when it should be safe for pedestrians to cross. On two occasions when walking my children to school a car has drove through the red lights at the crossing nearly striking my children. Today my child went to cross when the Green man appeared, the first car stopped however a 2nd card in the lane furthest away continued to drive through the lights. Had I not screamed at my child and grabbed him by his coat to pull him back the outcome would be a lot different. I’m not sure if there is an issue with the trees (see picture) blocking visibility of the traffic lights or if you could look to see what further can be done before there is a fatal collision.

Many thanks
