Flags attached to lamp posts obscuring/detracting from speed limits, speed cameras and school signs

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8369591.
Flags have been attached to lamp posts along Ring Road Middleton from the roundabout by Asda St George's Road to Middleton Park Circus. These flags distract and interfere with road safety signs (schools, speed limits, traffic cameras) and are also getting wrapped around and will spoil the Christmas lights. There has been no consideration of road safety nor any consultation with local people in relation to these flags. They have been tied to lamp posts high up and with cable ties and appeared mysteriously overnight. If these flags are supposed to bring our community together they have failed. They are threatening, hostile and unwelcome.

Don’t be a typical leftie! The flags have been up for months without any issue, no accidents and are high enough not to obscure any street signs! If anything the bring a sense of pride to the area and are what every town and city should be proud to fly!

As a military veteran who has served my country and seen combat, I don’t need to be reminded of what should make me proud. People should be able to report issues without sarcastic responses. The flags have not been up for months: they went up late September. One of the flags is obscuring a speed camera and another is over a school sign.
