4cm high raised paving stones due to tree roots
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category by Amanda Jagger at 15:43, Wednesday 29 October 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8353175.
These paving stones are a trip hazard. Tree roots from an adjacent tree are forcing the stones upwards. My mother (85 years) tripped whilst out walking on Saturday, fell and badly bruised and cut her head, face and hand. Could have been much worse. Please fix as soon as possible. The rest of Sandy Ridge is very uneven and also dangerous please inspect. There are many elderly people who live along this road.

This repair has not taken place. The large yellow plastic barriers remain which are causing more of a hazard than the paving as they constantly fall over and completely block the path for wheelchair users and buggies. Please repair the pavement and remove the barriers as soon as possible.

The reported issue requires the footway to be excavated to allow for tree root trimming before being reinstated, these works will now be co-ordinated between our Highways and Tree Teams.
