Hedge minimising safe usage of pathway on blind corner. Significantly reduces width of path.

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 10:10, Mon 13 October 2025

Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8287789.

Paths on Gatcombe widen on 2 corners. The corner on the left in the first picture shows the top of the hedge extending significantly over the pathway, forcing pedestrians to walk too close to the road. This should be cut back significantly for safety reasons. Looking at the next corner proceeding from the image towards The Kensington pub you will see the full width of the pavement which is as the one covered by the hedge should be and would have been at some point in the past.

It is important that pedestrians are given more space here (not less) as cars often park on the outside of the bend causing cars coming down Gatcombe to drive towards oncoming traffic. A collision between 2 cars is increasingly likely to happen due to increase in onstreet parking and the blind nature of the corner. The hedge reduces visibility for vehicles and for children on journeys to several schools local to Great Holm.
