Huge Sycamore Tree in Vicarage Close Aston

Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category by Sue Lovell at 17:49, Thursday 9 October 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8275618.

As per previous reports by the residents of Vicarage Close and subsequent replies from OCC ref FixMyStreet ref: 6998034./ Council ref: ENQ251031491, I would now like to know when the survey was completed in 2025, the outcome and when the planned lopping work is set up to be done, as the height of the tree is now getting quite dangerous for such an enclosed and residential area.. This is the wording from the OCC reply in Jan 2025 to the residents of the close- "Thank you for your enquiry. Your parish is due to be surveyed by the OCC tree service in the next financial year. Once the parish survey has been completed a package of works will be created which will include the tree described in the enquiry". What is actually being done, and will someone come and talk to the residents of the close about what is seen to be an area of concern to them.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited site and have inspected the tree.
The tree appears to be in a reasonable condition on inspection with few obvious tree
risk features observed, on this occasion no statutory works are appropriate on the
tree as described in the enquiry. Should you notice a significant decline in the tree’s
overall health, please feel free to get back in touch with us.
    Many thanks for your enquiry
