20 limit sign obscured by foliage

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 21:44, Wednesday 8 October 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8271550.

The 20 limit sign on RHS travelling north is obscured by tree foliage.

Coming down the hill, the leftward bend makes this the one which drivers should see first, and the LHS one comes into view too late for those who don't know the area to respond appropriately.

This is particularly the case at night, as the LHS is the only effectively lit side.

Foliage has been cleared here several times before but the problem recurs quickly - it needs to be cut back much more thoroughly.

Council ref: ENQ251061536

  • As a pedestrian there is not really a safe place from which to take a good quality representative picture; attaching a capture from Google Maps (June 2025) which gives an impression, and an annotated dashcam snapshot.
