The manhole serving road gullies is silting up. The silt has reached the top of the inflow and outflow pipes.

The manhole and connecting pipes was jet washed several years ago. I understand that it is on the on-going maintenance list. It would be good to get it cleared before the winter rains as this section of road floods in heavy rain. Last time the two manholes downstream from this one also needed jet washing. I suggest that these are also checked.

  • Thank you for bringing the drainage issue to our attention. We are pleased to inform you that this area is scheduled for gully emptying within the next month. Rest assured, all Highway Surface Water Assets in the area will be thoroughly cleansed within the specified time frame.
