Dangerous ditch in disrepair

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:33, Tue 7 October 2025

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8265111.

I understand a report has already been filed for the dangerous ditch in this location, but I wanted to add additional information. This dangerous ditch is in complete disrepair and is affecting the residents and visitors to all 7 properties beyond it. Going over this dangerous ditch is the only way to and from these 7 properties and needs to be filled in. In all the time we have lived here with very bad rain, that whole area has never flooded, therefore it cannot be there to prevent a flood. The ditch is dangerous on several levels. 1) it damages the underside of all the vehicles of residents and visitors to the 7 properties located beyond it, 2) some of the residents have babies and young children and prams cannot easily get over the ditch and is dangerous as requires a lot of manoeuvring to ensure safe passing with a pram and 3) it is unsafe to walk over the ditch as whether young or old, you could easily sprain your ankle or fall over. We have elderly residents, babies and young children. As the other report states, we hope that the council will fill in this ditch completely to remove the unsafe and harsh potholed gradient (not just repair the surrounding area of the channel) and notify all properties to ensure we are aware of when the works are due to be completed so we can ensure access in and out. Thanks.
