Dangerous turning into farm

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8214633.

Coming from Barleymow roundabout, when slowing/stopping to turn right into Evenley Farm entrance, cars/Lorries approach from behind too fast and end up almost colliding with the stationary car waiting to pull across to the right. There are two farm entrances, one to the left and one to the right. Road needs calming measures put in place here as it is very dangerous. Maybe a speed limit as traffic is coming straight off a 70mph dual carriageway here. Failing that, a right hand turn pull in junction for Evenly Farm entrance.

  • We are pleased to advise that in the interest of improving the safe and efficient flow of traffic at this location, West Northamptonshire Council is proposing to implement a 50 miles per hour speed limit. On completion of the consultation phase (which is subject to objections), we shall arrange for the relevant traffic signs to be installed. With this, it is anticipated overall speeds will reduce through this section of carriageway.
