Investigating
Severe decline of complex roadmarking systems on the 5 ways roundabout in Byfield./
Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 12:17, Thu 25 September 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8212628.
The roundabout markings are worn and disappearing. This is the busiest roundabout on the Banbury/Daventry Road with significant volumes of traffic moving at speed while entering this R/A (including large HS 2 vehicles). Traffic lights are not the solution. Existing road markings and signage do the job IF they can be seen. Urgent action required to ensure the safety of local residents at busy crossings, as well as clear and bright markings that assist drivers.in navigating the 5 ways roundabout.

There are numerous references to completion by 27/03/26 - this is now significantly overdue. There have been increasing incidents where traffic is speeding through worn lines unable to respect those unseen lines. This is a situation waiting for serious accidents causing risk to pedestrians and other motorists
