Haw Lane outside of VIRTUS Data Centre construction site

Reported via mobile in the Cleaning/Sweeping category anonymously at 17:52, Friday 19 September 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8188823.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the persistent and unacceptable condition of Haw Lane in Saunderton, which has been severely affected by the long-term construction of the data centre in the area.

For the last two years now, the road has been consistently covered in clay, chalk, and other debris resulting from the excavation and construction work. This has created a hazardous and damaging environment for road users, particularly those of us who rely on Haw Lane daily.

As a resident who regularly uses this route, I am incurring significant weekly costs to clean my vehicle in order to prevent damage to the paintwork. The fine particles and residue from the site cling to the surface of my car, and if not removed promptly, they begin to erode the finish. This is not only a financial burden but also a completely avoidable one, had appropriate mitigation measures been put in place by those responsible for the site and its impact on the surrounding infrastructure.

I urge the Council to investigate the condition of Haw Lane and take immediate steps to ensure that the road is regularly cleaned and maintained to a standard that protects residents and their property. Furthermore, I would appreciate clarification on whether any compensation or remedial support is available for those of us who have been financially affected by this ongoing disruption.

Please note that the two times today street cleaning is not sufficient is not causing this issue to be prevented.
