5+ minute waits during school times after pressing pedestrian lights to cross
Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 20:45, Thu 18 September 2025
Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8184810.
Since the school term has started September 2025 the pedestrian crossing between Macfarren Street and Bell Street on Prescot Road, Old Swan, has wait times of 5+ minutes after pressing the button to cross. Prior to the summer holidays, pedestrians were able to cross within one minute of pressing the button during school rush hour morning and afternoon.
This is becoming frustrating when taking my children to school as I am having to leave a lot earlier just to accommodate waiting at the pedestrian crossing for 5 minutes every morning.

This problem has not been resolved. Waiting times are still 5+ minutes throughout the day including school times. Each day I watching pedestrians run across the road when it is red because they have been waiting a ridiculously long time to cross.
