  • Keep left signs have blown over. This is now more dangerous than nothing being there at all. Please rectify as soon as possible.

  • Road signs missing. Another accident due to this and vehicle damaged, it’s going to a matter of time before someone’s seriously injured. Absolute negligence by the council. This was reported weeks ago.

  • Damage done to my car while avoiding a dog at the side of the road. Central kerb area completely invisible in the dark, nothing reflective and no bollards. So dangerous.

  • This is still not resolved. Street light not working, keep left signs are laying down, the raised curb is barely visible when approaching it at night. This resulted in significant damage to my car. Another car did exactly the same thing about 15 mins after. This is happening so frequently now. It needs to be sorted before it causes a serious accident.

  • Road signs missing & 3 Street Lights Not Working. At night, with on coming headlights, this is near impossible to see! Another accident due to this and my vehicle damaged, it’s going to a matter of time before someone’s seriously injured. 20 Minutes after me someone else dont the same. Absolute negligence by the council. Why is this not being dealt with? £1,000 Worth of Damage. I will be taking legal action

  • Still not fixed, street lighting not working. MAJOR HAZARD on the road and unsafe conditions for pedestrians using the island to cross the road. First reported in September and no updates between then and now (December), unacceptable from the council and a big risk. Multiple accidents and near misses since initial report.

  • There are no bollards or reflective lights on this traffic island, which makes it difficult to see. In dark wet weather and incredibly dangerous! I hit the curb of the island this morning and sustained damage to my car, ( photos taken several hours later in daylight) both of the alloys and tyres on driver's side need replacing. The car was recovered and taken to a garage this afternoon for assessment/ repair. After talking about the accident today, I am shocked with just how many people have had similar accidents at this site or near misses. Please take care everyone. .

  • Street lights 45 and 46 not working. My car hit the kerb on the island and two tyres exploded. Both wheels need replacing. While I was waiting for the RAC, two further cars did exactly the same thing.

  • Residents have added temporary cone measures as nothing has been done about this in months.

  • Do we have to wait for someone to be seriously injured before OCC actually do something about the lethal condition of roads in and around Faringdon. Fixmystreet is littered with examples of dangerous road conditions in the town that have been ignored for months. I bet if we withheld our Council Tax payments, the bailiffs would be around quicker than the road repair teams!

  • Witness to severe damage to BMW which hit the island at approx 18:00 30.01.25. This needs rectifying ASAP before someone gets seriously injured.

  • Street Lamp 45 and 46 wasn’t on not My car hit on the island and two tyres popped along with my rim being seriously damaged Both wheels need replacing. Wile wanting for a friend to help a van also hit going the opposite way

  • No lighting and in an attempt to navigate around the tow truck that was recovering the BMW that unfortunately had severe damage after hitting the island, I too hit the island and and crashed after popping my front tyres.

Whilst attempting to assess the damage, a further 2 cars also did the same.

    Unbelievable

  • Whilst going round a car that had stopped just before the island, I hit the island a blew the front drivers side tyre. I did not see the island due to the street lights above it being out, poor weather conditions and the island not being lit up or clearly marked. I was not speeding and came away with minimal damage, however I had 2 children in the car who were terrified and then had to stand in the cold and rain with me until we could be rescued and the tyre replaced. I managed to limp my car further up the road to prevent other cars also hitting the island while going round me.

  • Whilst it’s great that temporary measures have been added now (comes and signage), perhaps you could arrange to have the old signage removed? Or is the mangled mess of old cones and road signs just going to be left in the hedge row for local residents to sort?
