Traffic light sequencing issue

Reported via Android in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 11:07, Thu 18 September 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8181988.

I cycle through this junction a few times a week and have noticed an issue with the light running that creates a potentially dangerous conflict.

When approaching from the west, and turning right/south from London Road into Colliery Road.

There is a right turn lane and the lights go green with the light on the westbound carriageway. Right turning traffic often waits until all oncoming traffic has cleared before being able to turn. However, no allowance for this is made in the time before traffic exits Colliery Road, leading to potential dangerous conflict, particularly for cyclists.

I would suggest this junction needs timing adjusted, or a dedicated right turn phase to the lights.
