Disgraceful amount of litter in the River Soar

I was again shocked at disgusted at the amount of litter in Leicester's waterways. I took thus photo is Abbey Park this morning but it could of been anywhere along the river. I have been bringing this matter to the attention of the city council for years and the problem is seemingly getting worse. The amount of rubbish thrown into the river in leicester and washed into the county is staggering. To make matters worse the litter is never cleaned up so things get worse year on year. Please let me know if the City council has any plans to address this problem. Thank you.
