Bus Stop car parking

The bus stop at the bottom of Smorrall Lane, beside the Chip Shop is often used as a parking bay by people who cannot be bothered to use the car park that is entered from immediately prior to the stop. This means that when buses need to use the stop, they have to pick up and/or drop off passengers in the middle of the road which is highly dangerous, and because the bus is outside of its designated stopping point, it is therefore uninsured should an accident actually occur which could lead to all sorts of legal trouble, as well as costing the bus driver their job in a worst case scenario.
And whilst the bus is stuck in the middle of the road, no other traffic can get past if there are vehicles in the right-turn lane waiting at the traffic lights. This can cause the entire junction to grind to a halt in the peak times, and should a bus actually break down sat there, it would cause havoc.
It tends to be the busy evening peak periods when people park here most, but it is still very evident throughout the day. Having a traffic warden pop by every so often, even if it's just once a week, should help reduce the problem.
