Tree planting request for Prickley Wood

Reported via desktop in the Tree Planting Request category by Alexa Michael at 23:45, Sun 14 September 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8164537.

I would like to request that three (or more) cherry trees be planted in Prickley Wood. Apparently a former resident of Prickley Wood requested that the trees be removed because they interfered with his work vehicle. However, this individual no longer lives in Prickley Wood but there is only one mature cherry tree remaining in the close. It looks lovely in the spring and the close would definitely benefit from more street trees. Therefore I would like to request that a minimum of three new cherry trees be planted in Prickley Wood during the next tree planting season which begins in November 2025.

  • Thank you for your planting requests. We have sadly come to the end of our 'Treemendous' project where we received funding to plant 5,000 trees over 4 years and for the coming planting season starting in November, we are only replacing lost tree's based upon viability due to budgetary constraints and do not have funding to reconstruct decommissioned blacktopped tree pits. Historically, there used to be tree pits outside property no's: 2 & 12 which purposely have been decommissioned due to their close proximity to existing street services to makes them unviable for replanting (see attached photos, complicated by a third party conifer in conflict if outside No.2 was replanted. With regard to the blacktopped tree pit located side of/rear garden 70 Bourne Way, this enquiry has been referred to HW's for them to confirm this usable and not been filled in, separately a replacement tree has been added to the planting schedule subject to HW's being able to confirm it is usable which you will be updated the outcome of this.
