Grass verge - fallen branches

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 12:25, Sunday 14 September 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8162615.

Fallen branches from 2024 and this year (we haven't even got into Autumn 2025) continue to lie on this grass verge.

They were not removed, merely, cut around during the only grass cut this year. Likewise, after the fairly recent storm, branches that fell onto the adjacent pavement were (mostly) just lobbed onto the verge, rather than removed and pulped.

This isn't 'naturalisation', this is sheer laziness and only encourages the many rats that have taken hold since the grass cutting was stopped entirely a few years ago. It also adds to the unsightliness.

This plot is residential facing. All residential facing plots should be cut, as they were previously.

Save the plots that are allowed to grow wild to the likes of the A739 Balshagray Clyde Tunnel approach roads. Why they, as but one an example, continue to be cut is a complete mystery - one is even a stepp embankment. None are directly residential facing.

Please explain that rationale, and it has nothing to do with safety - no sightlines are obscured.

Finally, listen to the Boss re 'improving the look and feel of urban spaces' etc, and 'respond to local concerns'.
