Road marking son the inside lane approaching the roundabout are wrong

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 22:23, Fri 12 September 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8158993.

The road markings on the inside lane approaching the roundabout have been repainted incorrectly. The correct road markings previously on the road showed that the inside lane is for vehicles turning right at the roundabout. The markings now show that the inside lane is for going straight in only. This is incorrect, now all 3 lanes are marked stating the are to go straight on and there are no markings indicating which lane is for turning right.

  • I have nearly been taken out several times now coming off this roundabout in the middle lane by people boldly carrying straight over in the inside lane which should be for turning right to Gateway only. Road markings at the roundabout have arrows recognising the inside lane as Gateway only but arrows on the approach have been repainted as all 3 lanes straight on squeezing into just 2 lanes without any time to filter which is so dangerous. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident here at rush hour.

  • Thank you for enquiry, This particular roundabout design has been implemented at this location for a reason, Ahead Arrows, In the right lane approaching a roundabout, even if you intend to turn right, this encourages drivers to follow the roundabouts natural clockwise flow and prevents potential wrong-way navigation. As a right arrow might be misinterpreted by some drivers, leading them to enter the roundabout incorrectly.
